Arnold Wissel, 84, of Westport, passed away at 10:17 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Morning Breeze Health Care Center in Greensburg. He was born on May 21, 1937 in Oldenburg, Indiana. He was the son of Ray Lawrence & Josephine (Suding) Wissel. He was raised in Batesville and has been a Westport resident since 1987. He retired from Delta Faucet in 2001 after 27 years of service. He also worked for Romweber Company at Batesville for 20 years and Walmart for 6 years. He attended the Westport Wesleyan Church and enjoyed wood working and gardening. He married Esther N. Steele on July 5, 1975 in Connersville, Indiana. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2013. Arnold is survived by his sister,
Mary Jane Rudolf of Batesville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Clara Hankins and Delores Schuler. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Black and Rev. Paul Hornberger officiating. Burial will be at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are recommended.
