P. William “Bill” Wenning, 85, of Greensburg passed away on October 6, 2023. He was born on June 4, 1938 in Greensburg, Indiana the son of Paul C. and Dorotha Perry Wenning. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Greensburg High School and Butler University graduate with a B.A. in 1962 and a M.S. in 1967. He taught Mathematics at Greensburg Community High School for 38 years retiring in 2000. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Greensburg Optimist Club, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Greensburg Country Club, and was a Greensburg High School Hall of Famer.
Survivors include: Brother, Gene (Cheryl) Wenning of Norristown, PA; Sister, Judy Wenning of Manhattan, NY; Nephews, Gene Jr. (Lisa) Wenning and Gregory (Barbara) Wenning; Great Niece Jordan Wenning and Great Nephew, Zachary Wenning. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Fiancé, Holly Sue Peters; and Brother, James Wenning.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 11:00 am until the time of the Funeral at 1:00 pm. Pastor Jon Porter will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Decatur County Community Foundation.
