Brian T. Tunny, 49

Brian T. Tunny, of Springfield, MO, formerly of Greensburg, Indiana, went home to be with his Lord on August 25, 2021, at the age of 49 years, 11 month, 26 days. Brian was born on August 30, 1971, in Greensburg, IN to Hubert and Brenda (Reynolds) Tunny. Brian was the oldest of three children in the home.

Brian was blessed with three sons in Indiana, Cory, Dillon and Lars, before relocating to Springfield, Missouri where he met and married Amy Moenning. They were married on June 25, 2004. Amy brought a son Jordan to the marriage, who Brian raised as his own. Amy and Brian were then blessed with two additional children, Aaron and Madilynn.

Brian’s life was filled with many occupations from truck driving, construction, and farming to being a very talented craftsman. He could build or repair just about anything. He also loved gardening and was an excellent cook.

Brian was preceded in death by his loving wife Amy who passed away in 2020, and his maternal grandparents, Edward and Marcella Reynolds and paternal grandparents, James and Geneva Tunny.

Brian is survived by his parents, Hubert and Brenda, children: Cory Tunny, Greensburg, IN; Dillon (Jessica) Tunny, Columbus, IN; Lars Tunny, Shelbyville, IN; Aaron Tunny and Madilynn Tunny, Springfield, MO; and Jordan Moenning and significant other Kyleigh Lester, (Springfield, MO); siblings Shannan (Doug) Cooke, Columbus, IN, and Jeremy Tunny and partner Carlos Ibarra (Chicago, IL); grandchildren: Addison, Nolan, Maverick, Raylee and Macelynn; mother-in-law Beverly Johnson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family and countless friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church (1331 E Hunter Robbins Way, Greensburg, IN). The funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Brian will return to Missouri for a Graveside Service on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 10 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic, Missouri. Under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home.
