Fredrick Dale Cruser, 95

Fredrick Dale Cruser, 95, of Westport, Indiana, passed away on March 12, 2022.  Fred was born on November 3, 1926 in Greensburg, Indiana to the late Rolland and Opal Cruser.  He was a graduate of Sand Creek High School.  He was an US Army Veteran having served during WW II and was in the occupation of Japan.  He was a skilled plasterer for most of his life.  He had also worked for Cummins Engine Company for 14 years. He owned and operated several business, including a restaurant, building and refurbishing homes and Cruser Auto Sales. Fred enjoyed trips to Canada to fish, raising bird dogs and mushroom hunting. He was a member of the former Westport American Legion post. He is survived by his wife, Harriet Maddux Cruser; children, Phillip (Roberta) Cruser; Brenda (Jeff) Banschbach and Anita (Tim) Taylor; grandchildren, Travis Cruser, Brett (Tonya) Cruser, Ryan (Lynsey) Taylor, Erin (Nate) Cowgill, Hannah (James) Bayless, Shelbi (Bryan) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Rielyn Taylor, Carter Vlasic, Jillian Biggins, Nina Cowgill, Piper Vlasic, Olivia Cruser, Vivian Cruser, Conner Miller, Camila Taylor. Brother, Bill (Patty) Cruser and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Roger Dale Cruser; brothers, Paul, Wayne and Steve Cruser. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17th, 2022 at the Westport Wesleyan Church with Rev. Paul Hornberger officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Westport Wesleyan Church.
