Iris Baker Deiwert, 91


Iris Baker Deiwert, 91, of Greensburg passed away on December 31, 2020.  She was born on March 14, 1929 in Greensburg, Indiana the daughter of Cecil and Carrie Ponsler Baker.  Iris was a 1947 graduate of Greensburg Community High School.  On May 16, 1948 she married Wm. Floyd Deiwert, Jr.  Iris worked at Bohn Aluminum and was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Sandusky United Methodist Church, Alpha Phi Eta, Shriners Club, Order of the Eastern Star, the Woman’s Auxiliary, multiple Euchre and Canasta Clubs as well as the Home Ec. Club.  Iris enjoyed traveling, attending various conventions, playing cards, baking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include: Husband- Wm. Floyd Deiwert, Jr; Daughters, Nanci (Shane) Cohee and Tina Deiwert; Grandchildren, Mindy Deiwert, Sonya (Chris) Miller, Jessi (Bill) Barry, Chassidee Stringer, and Douglas Cohee, and Kristopher Brown; Great Grandchildren, Aviana Miller, Sabastian Miller and Gavin Deiwert.  She was preceded in death by her: Parents; Siblings, Dale Baker, Mervin Baker, Mabel Tarplee, and Maurice Baker; Infant Children, Bryant Scott Deiwert and Twylia Dawne Deiwert; and Son, Branford J. Deiwert.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral at 12:00 pm.  All visitors will have to wear a mask and observe social distancing, all public visitation guidelines are subject to change based on current Board of Health restrictions.  Rev. Ray Sweet will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.
