Jerry Wayne Nugent, 84

Jerry Wayne Nugent, 84, of North Vernon passed away at 1:56 p.m. on Wednesday,
November 30, 2022 at Majestic Health Care of North Vernon. He was born on
December 20, 1937 in Indiana, the son of Samuel Ellsworth and Bernadine Cordella
(Baxter) Nugent. He was raised in Indiana and was a former resident of Florida.
He enjoyed horses and riding the train out of Westport years ago. He was a
veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his daughters, Jody
Nugent of Tennessee and Joanna Hooten of Elizabethtown; son, Jerry Nugent of
Columbus; sister, Judith Mae Gerrian of Greensburg; brothers, Samuel Everett
(Regina) Nugent of North Vernon, Jackie Lee Nugent of Yuma, Arizona and Richard
David Nugent of Westport. He was preceded in death by parents and his wife, Donna
Nugent. According to his wishes he will be cremated. A graveside service will be
at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Bear Creek Cemetery. Bass &
Gasper Funeral Home in Westport has been entrusted with handling the
