John Richard Colee, 89, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 12th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at home. John was born to John and Justina Colee in Norristown, Indiana, on January 7th, 1937.
For over 45 years, John was the proud owner of Broadway Florists in Greensburg. Many local residents will remember him delivering beautiful flowers and balloon bouquets directly to their doors. John was a proud member of the Greensburg Country Club, where he also worked part-time on the landscape crew after his retirement. He was a wonderful gardener, a lover of animals, and a trusted neighborhood dog sitter. John cared immensely for his family and friends, always looking forward to lively ping-pong tournaments, euchre games, family beach vacations, and mixing up the best gin and tonic in town.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Justina Colee; four siblings, Marlene Turner, Mabel Bonenburger, Maude Wagner, and George Colee; and his grandson, Michael Colee.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sue Colee; his daughters, Emily Nichols (Joss) and Beth Hudson (Bart); his sons, Richard Colee (Jackie) and Robert Burdett (Melissa); his sister Mary Sebastian, his grandchildren, Erin Siefert (Ben), Jake Dudley (Ashley), Greyson Hudson, Harrison Hudson, Lila Hudson, Josie Hudson, Winter Nichols, and Tina Nichols; his great-grandchildren, Ellie, Reese, and McKenzie, as well as many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
