Larry Michael Meyer, 78

Larry Michael Meyer, 78, of Greensburg passed away on November 9, 2021. He was born August 30, 1943 in Greensburg, Indiana the son of John K. and Ruth V. (Caster) Meyer.   Larry was a 1961 graduate of Greensburg High School and a 1996 graduate of Concordia University.  On July 21, 1963 he married Shirley Bokelman and together they had three children: Jay, Robin, and Beth Ann.  Larry was a Decatur County Councilman, he was on the Decatur County 911 Board, Carousel Play and Learn Board, and a member of the Bethel Apostolic Church. He worked at Delta Faucet in Greensburg for 42 years and retired as the Plant Manager.  Larry was named a “Distinguished Hoosier” by Governor Eric Holcomb in 2017.  He was presented as Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year in 2001.  He was a past member of the Greensburg Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow.  Larry served as Chairman of the Decatur County Republican Party for several years and was involved in numerous other boards and committees.  Larry was well known for his quiet generosity and obvious spirit of caring.  Larry and Shirley together took in many foster children over the years.

Survivors include: Children, Jay Meyer, Robin Meyer, Beth Ann (Buck) Gindling, Beth (Tim) Wallace, Gwen (Chris) Amos, Allisha (Kirk) Black and Pamela (Matthew) Hupp; Grandchildren, Chad Wallace, Casey Herschburger, Donovan Meyer, Sydney Meyer, Lillian Meyer, Mariah Reynolds, Cheyenne Schoettmer, Darian Amos, Kaylee Black, Kenzie Black, Kinley Black, and Kirk Black, Jr.; Great Grandchildren, Brooks Wallace, Haddie Herschberger, Charles Reynolds, III, Kayden Reynolds, Cooper Hilderbrand, Joseph Hupp and Isaiah Hupp; Brother, Charles Meyer.  He was preceded in death by his Parents; Brother, John Meyer; Sisters, Marilinda Wagner, Gene Oliver, and Frances Ashley.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Bethel Apostolic Church on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 4:00 am until 7:00 pm.  Funeral Services will be on Saturday, November 13, at the Bethel Apostolic Church at 1:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior and can be accessed live on the Funeral Home Facebook Page. Rev. Todd Smith and Glenn Seaman will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.
