Robert Herschel Goodner, 73, of Greensburg, passed away at 7:07 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his residence. He was born on July 3, 1950, in Sheridan, Indiana, the son of James Robert & Geraldine (Harris) Goodner. He has been a resident in Greensburg since 2005. He was a truck driver for Sam Campbell Enterprises and was a member of the American Legion in Sheridan. Robert enjoyed watching TV and fishing. He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Cynthia Flannery of Greensburg; his daughter, Tara Mateyko of Sheridan; his son, James (Brenda) Goodner of Tipton; his sister, Valeria Ann (Earnest) Barnes of Sheridan; his 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kimberly Goodner and his brother, Jerry Goodner. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana through the funeral home.
