Susan “Ruth” Collins, 58, passed away at her home surrounded by family on November 18, 2021.
She was born on February 7, 1963 to Ray and Nyla Collins. She was a 1980 Graduate of North Decatur High School, where she was state champion as a softball player.
Ruth was a member of the Conservation Club of Decatur County and was an avid fisherman. And most of all she loved to hunt, camp, garden, and can. She loved to be with friends and family. Watching football and Nascar also brought her great joy.
She is survived by her loving wife, Julia Crum; siblings, Ralph Collins and Laura Raejean Scudder (Dennis); nieces, Melissa Collins and Dominque Bancroft (Cody), great niece and nephews, Emmytt McFarland, Willow McFarland, and Chevy Bancroft; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Nyla Collins; a great uncle, Sillis “Bug” Carmony (Viola); and grandparents, Lester and Susan Collins and Elmer and Ruth Hall.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date with inurnment to follow in Star Cemetery.
