Thomas “Tom” Lester Ruble, 74, of Greensburg, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. He was born on February 28, 1952, in Batesville, Indiana, the son of Archie and Wanda (Pursley) Ruble.
Tom was a 1971 graduate of North Decatur High School. Soon after graduation, he began working at Union Furniture, where he dedicated more than twenty years of service until the factory’s closing. In May of 1973, he married the love of his life, Mary Beth Muckerheide, who survives.
Tom lived a life rooted in community, service, and family. He was a proud member of the New Point Volunteer Fire Department and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish – Enochsburg. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and as his family grew, one of his greatest joys became coaching his children’s sports teams.
A talented woodworker and lifelong jokester, Tom had a gift for bringing laughter wherever he went—he truly never met a stranger. He loved playing cards, especially euchre and spades, and cherished every moment spent playing games with his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Ruble; his children: Steven (Jessica) Ruble, Amanda (Jennifer) Ruble, and Karen (Clint) Krieger; his grandchildren: Jacob Krieger, Lauren Krieger, Nola Ruble, Olivia Krieger, and Anna Ruble; his siblings: Rebecca (Randy) Schebler, Stella (Ron) Pyles, Sandra (Gary) Hamer, Nelrose (Mike) Price, and Ernest (Ann) Ruble; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Wanda Ruble.
