William “Billy” Ellenburg, 58

William “Billy” Ellenburg, 58, of Greensburg, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away on April 11, 2026. He was born on April 6, 1967, in Greensburg, Indiana, the only son—and as he often joked, the favorite child—of William Ellenburg, Sr. and Joyce Milburn Quicksall.

Billy was a Senior Superintendent at Bearing Construction, where his leadership and dedication earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Above all, he was most proud of his daughters and grandchildren, who were the center of his world.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time playing golf and softball. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Billy rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team. Known for his vibrant personality, he was often the life of the party, always ready with a joke and a smile to make others laugh.

Billy is survived by his daughters, Samantha Gahwiller and Mahria Rice; his mother, Joyce Mae (Kenny) Quicksall; his beloved grandchildren, Elena Andrades, Lilly Yerges, Ryleigh Kropp, Noah Yerges, Caleigh Kropp  and Charisma Andrade; and his sisters, Kimberly (Joe) Springmeyer, Beverly (Bobby) Westerfeld, Tammy Hileman, and Tracy Szostak; and girlfriend, Earnestin Rosales. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Ellenburg, Sr., and his niece, Brittany Jo Compton.

Billy will be remembered for his humor, his love of family, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service and celebration of Billy’s life at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 12:00 pm.  Devin Moore will be officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home
