VEHICLE FATALITY CRASH
On December 19, 2020, approximately 10:17 p.m., Bartholomew County Sheriffs deputies were dispatched to the area of N 280 W/Fawn Court in reference to a vehicle crash. On arrival, deputies located a male, identified as Matthew Hunstable, 29, Clifford, IN, who, was outside of the vehicle (initially it appeared he had been ejected from the vehicle which was not the case), and a female, Ashley Cox, 24, Columbus, entrapped inside.
German Township Fire personnel removed Ms. Cox from the vehicle.
Both Hunstable and Cox were transported to Columbus Regional Hospital. Later, Ms. Cox was transported to IU Methodist where she succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
