From Indiana State Police – Recently, a 61-year-old Batesville, Indiana woman was arrested on felony charges of theft and corrupt business influence after a year long investigation by Indiana State Police Detectives, with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The investigation into Jennifer Fullenkamp began in August 2023 when her employer, Scheele Orthodontics, reported a large number of payments from patients was missing and unaccounted for. The investigation, led by ISP Detective Paul Baker, determined that Fullenkamp allegedly stole thousands of dollars over the course of several years while she worked for the practice. Her scheme involved convincing patients to pay for services with cash in exchange for a discount on their bill. Fullenkamp then stole the cash and altered the computer records to conceal the theft. At the conclusion of the investigation by the Indiana State Police Special Investigations Section, the case was presented to the Ripley County Prosecutor’s Office for review. As a result, a warrant was issued for Jennifer Fullenkamp on charges involving allegations of Theft (in excess of $50,000) and Corrupt Business Influence, Level 5 Felonies. She was arrested without incident on August 23, 2024 and incarcerated in the Ripley County Jail, pending her initial court appearance.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
