GOVERNOR’S PUBLIC HEALTH COMMISSION TO MEET VIRTUALLY JAN. 20
INDIANAPOLIS—The Governor’s Public Health Commission will discuss how data is used to inform public health actions during its next meeting on Thursday, Jan. 20.The meeting will run from 1 to 3 p.m. and will be held virtually. Proceedings will be live streamed at https://www.youtube.com/c/IndianaDepartmentofHealth.Governor Eric J. Holcomb established the 15-member commission in August to study Indiana’s public health system and make recommendations for improvements. The commission is co-chaired by former State Health Commissioner Dr. Judy Monroe, who now serves as president and CEO of the CDC Foundation, and former state Sen. Luke Kenley. Current State Health Commissioner Kris Box, M.D., FACOG, serves as secretary, while former Congresswoman Susan Brooks serves as a non-voting citizen advisor.In addition to data and information, the commission’s work is focusing on areas including governance and structure, funding, emergency preparedness, workforce and the integration of childhood and adolescent health services.
