Robbery suspect in Bartholomew County identified in 24 minutes

Robbery Suspect Identified in 24 Minutes Leading to Arrest, was Arrested for
Burglarizing the Same Location in 2020

On 09/04/2024 at approximately 6:24 AM deputies from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office
responded to a report of a robbery at the Shell gas station in the 11000 blk of N US 31. According to the
station clerk a male entered the station wearing a mask and stated that he had a weapon in his coat
pocket.

After the robbery the suspect left in a vehicle that had easily identifiable characteristics which was
captured on external security cameras. As patrol units were checking the area Lt. Andrew Dougan
located the suspect vehicle parked in front of a residence in the Tannehill Trailer Park less than 1 mile
from the location of the robbery. The suspect later identified as Kobe Harmeson 25yo of Columbus was
found in the residence in which the suspect vehicle was parked. Harmeson was arrested on a charge
involving a robbery allegation and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail. Narcotics were also found on Harmeson’s person which resulted in additional charges. Harmeson remains in custody on a 48 hour hold.

Harmeson was found to have been arrested for burglarizing the same gas station in 2020.

This is a preliminary investigation. All persons are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
