On Thursday evening, the Greenburg Jr High XC team traveled to Rushville for a tri meet, including Greendale, Benjamin Rush, and Greensburg. The lady pirates were victorious, with the boys’ team finishing second behind Greendale Middle School.
Maria Scholle once again led the Pirates with a winning time of 12:04. Hadley Davis finished second overall with 12:51. Hayden Saylor and Ava Doig both placed inside the top-10, with PRs of 14:37 and 15:17. Next was Isabelle Macku with a PR 17:15, followed by Violet Macku with 17:58, and Sarita Walker in 18:05.
In the boys’ race, Kason Bedel finished in sixth place overall with a season best time of 12:26. Miles Gill was next in eighth place, tying his PR of 13:08. The rest of the Pirate boys all ran personal best times, with Luke Harris in ninth place at 13:23, Easton Character at 13:27, Liam Hernandez at 13:44, Konnor Luers at 14:52, Collin Rich at 14:55, Sam Black at 15:14, Preston Meadows at 19:09, and Rylan Herpel at 20:14.
The Pirates will race again next Tuesday at the Waldron Invitational.
