The North Decatur Charger Cross Country Teams competed Saturday in the 14 team Jac-Cen-Del Invite and boys team claimed 5th place while the Lady Chargers earned 6th overall. Senior Jackson White ran a tremendous race to lead the North boys team with a 6th place finish.
In doing so, Jackson became only the 3rd Charger cross country runner to ever break the 17:00 barrier crossing the line in 16:52! This is a new PR for Jackson and moves him into 3rd place on the All Time list at North Decatur. Harper Gunn set another PR finishing in 17:18 and Eli Weisenbach also finished with an incredible time lowering his PR with a time of 17:19. The next 7 finishers for the Chargers all set PR’s as well with Michael Gomola (18:40), Jayden Lawrence (19:35), and Sam Cathey (19:56) all breaking the 20:00 minute barrier. Logan Summey (20:10), Clayton Ruf (21:56), Teagan Stiecker (22:34) and Evan Cherry (22:40) all had tremendous days as well.
Senior Jake Demitt (27:00) also ran his best time of the season rounding a solid morning for the Charger cross team. The Lady Chargers continued their consistent running as many of the athletes ran their season fastest times as well. Leading the way was Dorothy Robbins (23:54) followed by Norah Amberger (24:23), Ava Lecher (24:35) and Emerson Gunn (24:51 and a new PR). Oliva Reisman (27:24), Brooklyn White (28:25) and Lauren Miller (28:51) all had great efforts and continued to show improvement as the Lady Chargers forge into the last month of the season.
