Greensburg, IN – The Decatur County Family YMCA is making a significant
reinvestment in the health and well-being of the community with the
installation of all-new fitness equipment at its facility. This initiative reflects
the YMCA’s continued commitment to enhancing accessibility, quality of life,
and overall wellness for individuals and families throughout Decatur County.
The new equipment, provided by Precor, will be installed over several days
and will fully refresh the Wellness Center floor. Designed with modern
technology, comfort, and usability in mind, the equipment supports members
of all fitness levels—from beginners to experienced users—while creating a
safer, more inclusive, and more effective workout environment.
“This investment reflects our commitment to continually reinvesting back
into the community we serve,” said Mackenzie Pickerrell, CEO of the Decatur
Shelby County YMCA. “By upgrading our wellness equipment, we’re creating
an environment that supports healthy lifestyles, removes barriers to access,
and helps individuals and families build strength, confidence, and well-
being.”
To safely accommodate the installation process, the Wellness Center and
24/7 access will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, January 26 at 4:00
PM, with a planned reopening on Wednesday, January 28 at 6:00 AM. The
YMCA appreciates members’ patience and understanding as these
improvements are completed.
The YMCA will share updates throughout the installation process and will
announce the completion of the project once the new equipment is fully in
place. To celebrate the reopening of the Wellness Center, the YMCA will offer
a No Join Fee membership special from Wednesday, January 28 through
Saturday, January 31, providing $75 in savings for new members and
inviting the community to experience the upgraded space.
