Advocates for Children, a local nonprofit serving Bartholomew, Decatur, and Jennings counties, is calling on community members to consider becoming Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
As part of the National CASA network, Advocates for Children connects trained volunteers with youth navigating the child welfare system. CASAs serve as consistent, caring adults who speak up in court for the best interests of the children they represent—often making a lifelong impact.
Research shows that children with a CASA volunteer spend less time in foster care and are more likely to find permanent, stable homes. Volunteers do not need a legal background—just compassion, commitment, and the desire to make a difference.
Those interested in learning more or applying to become a CASA volunteer are encouraged to contact Advocates for Children or visit their website for more information by clicking the following link- Donate Your Time as a CASA Volunteer | Advocates for Children
Together, the community can ensure every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, loving home.
