Recipe of the Week: Beating the Heat Wave with a Little Extra “Spice”!
If you thought it was hot outside today, we’re bringing even more heat to the kitchen; the delicious kind!
Since it’s way too warm to do anything ambitious, this week’s featured recipe is a total breeze to whip together. Sourced straight from the vintage Good Neighbor Cook Book (published by The Indiana Farmers Guide in Huntington, Indiana), this Spicy Applesauce Cake delivers rich, warm spices like cinnamon and cloves paired with cool sour cream and applesauce.
Pro-tip for the heat wave: whip it up during the cool morning hours, or serve a slice cold straight out of the fridge with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
