Today the Sheriff’s Office delivered all donations from our Pack A Patrol Car food drive. Over the past three weekends, the Sheriff’s Office collected non-perishable food items to donate to the Love Chapel Food Pantry and Salvation Army in Columbus. Donations sites were located at the Columbus Kroger, Sam’s Club and Jay C as well as in the lobby at BCSO and the Courthouse.
We are proud to announce that this year’s drive was a record year with approximately 7,200 pounds of assorted food. This is an increase of 3,200 pounds from last year’s drive.
Sheriff Chris Lane said, “What a response from our community. This year with the record amount of donations goes to show the great community we have here in Bartholomew County. I’d like to thank all those who donated and thank the local grocery stores that allowed us to collect at their locations. Again, we’d like to thank the community for their support in helping those in need during the holiday season.”
