The meeting began with the approval of the March meeting minutes and the Treasurer’s report that reflected no invoices or debits. However, it did include three $500 donations. Those donations received were from REMC, Powerstream Fiber, and Premier. The Fairgrounds account has a balance of $103,056.64.


Jeremy Pasel, Commissioner provided an update on the fairgrounds project. The Community Building and the Optimist Booth have been torn down and are being cleaned up at this time. Jeremy stated that the fundraising committee had begun their work and are working with a local company to develop a short video to ensure a cohesive statement and information is being given when looking for donations. Jeremy added that the electrical work that is being completed by REMC has been delayed due to staffing changes, with a tentative start day for the work to begin after the Power of the Past.
The committee is working hard to solicit sponsorships to make sure that this is a great fair. They urge businesses and families interested in donating to reach out to one of the committee members. Vendors are reminded that sign-ups will occur at the Fairgrounds Headquarters Building on June 7, 9a-11a. For questions about vendor spaces please contact Danny Peters 812-593-4491.
The committee approved a quote of $976 to have gutters installed on the north side of the goat barn to help with water runoff concerns. This work is scheduled to be completed within a month. Continued discussions are happening about having the asphalt loop installed where the fair midway is located. Jeremy Pasel is going to speak with the Maintenance Staff to see about having the Livestock Barn doors on the eastside sanded and repainted. Maintenance is installing gutters on the hoop barn on the west side. They were able to utilize material from the optimist booth space to re-use.
Mark Hirt has been able to gather some great music- Friday-Feldman Music Studio, Saturday- Fishers of Men, and Sunday- Tom Richardson & the Silver Spurs. These performances will occur in the Farm & Home Building. More information will be available soon.
The Queen Pageant is scheduled for June 27, 2025, at 7p at Greensburg Community High School.
The parade sign-ups are kicking off highlighting this year’s theme of “The year of the Farmer”. Parade is July 13, 2025, line-up beginning at 2p with the parade beginning at 4p. For more information reach out to Chris Ramey 812-593-6537.
The committee is working on scheduling volunteers for various tasks and working to get the fair book finalized to be sent to be printed in May.
A discussion occurred about the PA system in the Livestock Pavilion needing to be looked at as it is popping and cracking when being used.
