The meeting was called to order by Tammy Williams, Chairperson, at approximately 7:00
p.m. The Board reviewed and approved the March 26, 2026 meeting minutes and examined
financial items, including cash and investment reports and capital asset purchases for
March.
Following consideration of old and new business under the consent agenda, the Board
proceeded to the regular agenda which included a detailed financial report and updates on
prior business.
Committee reports were presented from the Finance Committee as well as the
Finance/Investment Subcommittee, covering meetings held in March.
New business included capital requests, approval of the Diet Manual, approval of the
Hospital Organ and Tissue Donation/Recovery Agreement and an update from Rex
McKinney, CEO. Rex reported on current economic challenges in the healthcare
environment and how the team continues to show strength while working through those challenges. He also reported on patient volumes, the new ability for patients to self-
schedule mammograms, and a new state accredited educational program that EMS is working on to train EMTs.
Some recent events that DCMH has either hosted or taken part in included the Women’s Health Expo, Run the Santee, and Healthy Kids Day. Upcoming events include Healthy Fair, the Hospital Foundation’s Event Fore Caring, and the upcoming Decatur County Fair.
The Medical Staff Report addressed appointments, reappointments, and terminations to
Privileges.
