Decatur County Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center Ribbon Cutting- 8/9/24

The Decatur County Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center & Medical Offices held their Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The space is 26,000 square feet and is two floors. On the first floor is the Hospital Rehabilitation Department, and Southern Indiana Orthopedics. The second-floor hosts women health medical offices and family medicine offices.

The facility has been in operation a few months now. Several DCMH employees and local business representatives attended the ribbon cutting. An open house of the building is scheduled for September 28, 2024, 9:00 am-10:30 am.

The ceremony began with a few speeches on the second floor in the waiting area.

Dawn Lowe, Greensburg Decatur County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, thanked DCMH for their continued partnership at the chamber and highlighted all that the hospital does for the community. She mentioned that when the chamber needs a lunch catered or something sponsored the hospital is always willing and happy to help. Dawn also added that DCMH is the counties 3rd largest employer with approximately 400 employees.

Josh Marsh, City of Greensburg Mayor, Thanked DCMH for being active in the community and continuing to expand services for families close to home. Josh spoke of the fact that DCMH is always willing to be a partner in different community events.

Rex McKinney, DCMH CEO, thanked the hard and dedication of all of the staff. He spoke about this being a vision that was first told to him on his second day of work. He said that the vision for this building and space took 15 years to come to reality. He said that it took everyone working hard and putting in the effort. He thanked the businesses that participated when they were acquiring land for the space. He thanked the DCMH Hospital Foundation and all of the donors that helped make this space happen.

Mollie Fry, DCMH Hospital Board President, began by thanking the community for their support of the hospital. She also said that Rex McKinney is a champion and helped take a vision and take it to reality. She said at the risk of sounding cliche she was proudest that our community can receive quality care that is close to home. She thanked everyone involved for their efforts.

After the quick speeches we went in front of the building and carried out the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
