A former Decatur County official has entered a guilty plea in a criminal case stemming from an investigation in Decatur County.
Mark Koors had been accused of forgery, official misconduct, and theft following the investigation. Due to Koors’ ties to the Decatur County community and his previous role as President of the Decatur County Commissioners, a special judge was appointed to oversee the proceedings.
Koors appeared in person for a pre-trial hearing in the Shelby County Magistrate Courtroom, where Jennifer Kinsley served as special judge in the case. During the hearing, the court accepted a written plea agreement in which Koors pleaded guilty to Count II, Forgery, a Level 6 Felony. Koors will serve two years of probation in this case.
As part of the agreement, the State moved to dismiss the remaining charges originally filed in the case.
