The Greensburg Decatur County Public Library is excited to announce the start of the 2026 Summer Reading Program at the end of May with this year’s theme, Unearth A Story!
Kick off your Summer with the Greensburg Decatur County Public Library at the 2026 Summer Reading Kick-Off Party, where you will sign up for Summer Reading via our ReadSquared app, check out books, discover new worlds, characters, and adventures while you read for prizes!
After signing up, have fun on a bounce castle, bounce slide, and play outdoor games on the patio while you enjoy popsicles!
The 2026 Summer Reading Program, Unearth A Story, will start on Tuesday, May 26th at 4:30 PM, with our Kick-Off Party and end on Saturday, July 18th.
What is the Summer Reading Program? The Summer Reading Program is an annual event held at the Greensburg Decatur County Public Library (and libraries nationwide), where kids, teens, and adults participate in activities to promote reading. The Greensburg Decatur County Public Library offers many books for all ages and reading levels, along with year-round fun programs for all ages, with even more during the Summer Reading Program.

Bring your family to sign up for the Adult, Teen, and Children’s Summer Reading programs, pick up event information handouts, and read to your heart’s content!
