The City of Greensburg Redevelopment Commission meeting was held on August 1, 2024 at 7:00 pm.
The meeting began with the approval of the meeting minutes from their July 8, 2024 meeting.
Zach Wirrig, Director of Public Projects came to the board and said that the Iron Men Apartment Complex discussions and planning is moving forward. He said that they are currently working on the Economic Development Agreement. He said that they hope to have the design completed February 2025, with a goal to begin construction in March/April 2025.
Zach provided an update on the Liberty Lakes project stating that they are moving along and already have 2 or 3 home sites prepped for homes. He said that the project has great momentum. He said that they are having to have an official groundbreaking ceremony towards the end of September.
Zach brought a full price offer to the RDC for the property located at 171 W. Veterans Way. This offer does not have any plans for building at this time. The person who offered to purchase at full price plans to keep as an investment with temporary use for agriculture. The RDC felt that they would like to see plans for properties that they are selling before they agree to sell. Once they are sold they have no control as to what is done. The offer was rejected due to lack of a motion to accept. The commission and legal counsel had an extensive conversation and the commission decided that they would create a list of what types of businesses that they would like to attract for their properties that are included in the Property Marketing Program.
The commission approved for Zach to purchase a membership for $25 for the first year and then $125/year for AIM Redevelopment Association of Indiana.
The commission approved the August 2024 regular claims.
The meeting was adjourned.
