GREENSBURG, IND. – Iron Men Properties and the City of Greensburg announce they will break ground on a new multifamily apartment complex called Ironwood in downtown Greensburg. The 88-unit complex will be built on the site of the former Decatur County Jail at 200 S. Broadway St.
“We are excited to become part of the Greensburg community,” said Joe Blake, co-owner of Iron Men Properties. “At Iron Men Properties, our mission is to uplift communities through high-quality housing developments that create long-term impact. Throughout Indiana, we’ve focused on transforming underutilized and blighted downtown spaces into vibrant residential communities, and we’re proud to partner with Greensburg on a project that will contribute to the city’s continued growth and revitalization.”
Iron Men Properties is focused on development specifically in county seats across Indiana. Examples of recent residential development projects include The Interurban in Delphi, 451 Lebanon in Lebanon and Nickel Plate Flats in Frankfort.
The name Ironwood is inspired by both Iron Men Properties and Greensburg’s identity as “Tree City,” home to the nationally recognized Courthouse Tower Tree. Iron Men Properties will maintain 100% ownership of the property through its management company, Teays Valley Property Management.
“Housing availability remains one of the most important factors in supporting long-term community and workforce growth across Indiana,” said Nassif Kouton of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “Projects like Ironwood represent the kind of strategic public-private partnership that helps communities like Greensburg attract investment, support local employers and create vibrant places for people to live and work.”
This project will utilize READI grant funding, as have other Iron Men projects across the state. Indiana’s READI grants are helping communities revitalize downtowns, expand housing and infrastructure, and attract new business investment through regionally driven development projects. By supporting quality-of-place initiatives and long-term economic growth, READI funding is strengthening local economies and creating more vibrant places to live and work across Indiana.
The project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2027.
