The Alma Taylor Foundation recently gave the new Decatur County pool a $10,000 boost.

Alma Taylor Foundation’s Board President Dick Glaser, Secretary Bonnie Holaday, and Treasurer Judy Curd presented a check to Decatur County Community Foundation’s Executive Director Tami Wenning after learning of a match opportunity being offered by DCCF. Now through February 28th, the DCCF is matching pool donations up to $300,000.  The Alma Taylor Foundation gift brings the community’s contributions to $42,052.04 of the $300,000 match goal.

“This particular grant is a little beyond the normal scope of the Alma Taylor Foundation, but we felt it was important to the community,” said Glaser.

The Alma Taylor Foundation’s mission is “to enhance and educate the community by preserving the heritage and fostering the development of historic downtown Greensburg, Indiana.”  The Alma Taylor Foundation offers grant programs for the maintenance and improvement of qualifying buildings on the downtown Greensburg square. The Foundation was started thanks to a significant gift from Alma Taylor, a 1920 graduate of Greensburg High School.
