The Lady Pirates met the Madison Cubs and were outmatched. The Cubs sat the pace of the game very early on by securing the first point with only 45 seconds leaving the game clock. The Cubs would have two points in the first three minutes of the game.
The Pirates were able to get five shots on goal in the first half but none would not settle in the net. The score at the half would be 5-0 with Madison on top. The second half would be more of the same with Madison controlling the ball.
Senior Captain Macey Smith did score off an assist from Senior Captain Natalie Kalinowski. Kalinoski would also score from a long deep direct free kick securing Greensburg’s second point.
Freshman Keeper Madeline Shrader saw eight shots on goal and allowed four. Freshman Keeper Emma Hostetler saw 21 shots on goal and only allowed five. Other blocks on goal were made by Senior Captain Emilee Erstes with one and Sophomore Genevieve Smith with two.
The final score was 9-2 with the Pirates securing the loss. This brings the Lady Pirates to 4-2 on the season. The next game is September 13th against East Central at home. The game starts at 6:00 p.m.
