North Decatur High School Varsity Softball beat Batesville High School 9 to 5


North Decatur Chargers Varsity managed through a push by Batesville Friday in the sixth inning where North Decatur Chargers Varsity coughed up four runs, but North Decatur Chargers Varsity still won 9-5 on Friday. Batesville big bats were led by Emma Belter, Renee Lecher, and S Rippenger, all knocking in runs in the inning.
North Decatur Chargers Varsity got things started in the first inning when Sarah Swain singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
North Decatur Chargers Varsity tallied three runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by North Decatur Chargers Varsity was led by Bobbie-Jean Trask and Macy Scudder, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Haley Arthur led the North Decatur Chargers Varsity to victory in the circle. The lefthander surrendered five runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one.
Paige Oldham took the loss for Batesville. Oldham allowed 11 hits and nine runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.
North Decatur Chargers Varsity collected 12 hits on the day. Swain, Keisha Crosland, Scudder, Kaylin Muckerhide, and Kacie Ogden each had multiple hits for North Decatur Chargers Varsity . Swain led North Decatur Chargers Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
