The Greensburg JH XC team traveled to Brown County Saturday morning to take part in the Eagle Classic Invite. This meet featured teams from 30 schools, and the Pirate boys took 20th, while the girls took 18th place as a team.
Leading the Pirate boys was 6th grader Elliott O’Sullivan in a personal best time of 11:46 to take 69th place. Next was Kason Bedel in 87th place with a time of 12:01. He was followed by Miles Gill (12:23, 114th), Liam Hernandez (PR of 12:51, 135th), Luke Harris (12:52, 139th), and Easton Character (12:55, 143rd). Samuel Black rounded out the varsity squad with a new PR time of 14:09.
In the boys’ JV race, Konnor Luers (14:02), Collin Rich (15:21), Rylan Herpel (PR of 16:52), and Preston Meadows (18:12) competed for the Pirates.
On the girls’ side, Maria Scholle finished in 16th place with a time of 11:56. She was closely followed by Hadley Davis, who took 20th place in 12:15. Next were Hayden Saylor (14:01, 120th), Ava Doig (14:56, 149th), Isabelle Macku (15:15, 154th), Violet Macku (PR of 15:36), and Noelle Kern (17:05).
Sarita Walker ran in the girls’ JV race, taking 107th place in a PR time of 16:11.
The Pirates are back in action Tuesday evening at the Columbus Central Classic.
