Harold B Turner, 83

Harold B Turner, age 83 of Osgood passed away on April 29, 2021.  Harold was born on April 6, 1938 the son of the late Buford and Hester (Burnette) Turner in Scott County, Indiana. Harold grew up in Scott county and attended Scott County High School.  In the spring of 1956 Harold entered the service and proudly served our country until June 30, 1963.  Upon returning to civilian life, Harold began his work career.  He spent several years working for the Town of Osgood, however the majority he worked for himself as an electrician. On December 28, 1986 he married Barbara Jean Atkins Nicholson.  They would have celebrated their 35th anniversary this year.  Harold enjoyed retirement spending many hours talking over coffee with the crew at McDonald’s. Harold was a member of the Osgood Masonic Lodge, Osgood American Legion, 40&8, and the Ripley County Farm Club. He is survived by wife Barbara,  sons; Rick (Karen) Turner, Marty Nicholson and Greg (Joy) Nicholson, daughter Mandy (Matt) Collins, brother Lynn (Pat) Turner, sister Shirley Wright, along with 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Sam, sister Cora Jean Murphy and daughter-in-law Debbie Nicholson. Visitation will be held on Monday May 3, 2021 from 3-5 pm. at Neal’s Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 5 pm.  Masonic services will be at 4:30 pm. and Military services will be at 5 pm.  Memorials can be given to Saint Peters United Church of Christ in care of the funeral home.
