Miss Marita Ann Gibson, age 92, of Greensburg, left this earthly world and was
welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. She was born
on July 31, 1932 in Letts, Indiana the daughter of the late George and Velma
(Castor) Gibson. Marita was preceded in death by one brother, James Gibson and
one sister, Mary Jackson. Marita is survived by her loving nieces Brenda Thorp,
Stephanie Ogle, Alesia Schoberle, Sarah Gibson and Valerie Simon as well as a
nephew, George Jackson. She also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews and
great-great nieces and nephews who adored her dearly. While Marita would tell
you that what she always wanted in life was a home and a family of her own, this
didn’t happen in the traditional sense. However, she had more “kids” than she
could have ever hoped for. She mentored, counseled, befriended, and prayed for
these countless “kids” who came into her life. Those who know Marita will
remember her selfless giving to everyone, her deep-rooted faith in Jesus and her
commitment to spreading love and kindness to those she encountered. She left a
lasting impact on everyone who crossed her path. Marita’s physical presence may
no longer be with us, but her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May
her memory be a blessing and carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in
all that we do. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M., Saturday,
May 24, 2025 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, Westport, Indiana. Funeral services
will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Bass & Gasper Funeral
Home in Westport with Pastor Robb Barlow officiating. In lieu of flowers the
