Phyllis Raye Purvis, 69

Phyllis Raye Purvis, 69, of Columbus, passed away at 1:42 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on July 11, 1952 in Columbus, her father was Albert Willoughby and her mother was Viola (Curtis) Pendleton. She has resided in Columbus for the past 15 years. She had worked for Muscatatuck State Hospital and retired from Rescare in 2014. She enjoyed reading and writing stories. Survivors include her daughter, Carrie (Charles) Ferris of Greensburg; her brother, Ivan Willoughby of Columbus; her grandchildren, Zach Ferris, Katie Ferris, Jacob Ferris and Cody Ferris. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Clarene Ackerman. Following her wishes she will be cremated and there will be no visitation or funeral.
