Russell Owen “Jake” Scudder, Jr., 79, of Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his residence. He was born on February 22, 1941 in Decatur County, the son of Russell Sr. & Margaret (Blanford) Scudder. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and he owned his own car lot. Russell enjoyed cars, road trips and telling jokes. He married Nora Alice Hill on August 8, 1959 in Greensburg. She preceded him in death on September 7, 2020. He is survived by his daughters, Marcia (Donald) Hardebeck of Greensburg and Traci (Chris) Miller of Hamilton, Ohio; his sisters, Janet (John) Black of Greensburg and Shirley Moore of Shelbyville; his five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Shelia Scudder; sister, Vivian Pence and brother, Kenneth Scudder. According to Russell’s wishes he will be cremated with no funeral service or visitation. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to American Heart Association, American Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
