Columbus Township-Bartholomew County SBOA Special Investigation Report Released

A special report released by the Indiana State Board of Accounts details the findings of an investigation into the Columbus Township Trustee in Bartholomew County.

The investigation uncovered several expenses that were determined to be a misuse of township funds. These included questionable purchases and payments that did not serve a legitimate public purpose or failed to follow proper procedures. Township funds are intended to be used for essential services such as fire protection, poor relief, cemetery maintenance, and township assistance to residents in need. Misuse of these funds undermines public trust and diverts resources away from the critical services that townships are responsible for providing.
