Indianapolis Woman Killed in Bartholomew County Crash

Late yesterday evening, October 12, 2025, Troopers from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post responded to a single vehicle crash on I-65 in northern Bartholomew County that resulted in the death of the 35-year-old driver.

At approximately 10:30 pm, emergency personnel responded to I-65 Northbound near the 76-mile marker, near Taylorsville, Indiana after a crash occurred where a single vehicle left the roadway.  Troopers Payton Utterback and Noah Moore soon arrived in the area and located a 2025 Nissan Rogue approximately 100 feet off the east side of the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Amanda Seguin, age 35, Indianapolis, Indiana sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office despite life saving measures performed by first responders.

The initial investigation by Trp. Utterback indicated that Seguin was traveling northbound on I-65 when, for an unknown reason, Seguin lost control of the vehicle.  The vehicle left the right side of the roadway, striking a concrete barrier.  Her vehicle then continued down an embankment where it overturned, ejecting Seguin.

It is not believed that she was properly restrained and the initial investigation indicates that drugs and/or alcohol may be a contributing factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.  Seguin’s family has been notified.

Troopers from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post were assisted by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Police Department, Taylorsville Fire Department, German Township Fire Department, Columbus Regional EMS, Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office, and 31 Wrecker Service.
