Interstate 65 near the 79 mile marker when he observed a vehicle in front of him with an obstructed
license plate. Deputy Prather also observed the vehicle cross the center line on two different occasions.
Deputy Prather conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for the above infractions, during the traffic stop
the driver provided a fake name.
As the traffic stop continued the female passenger later identified as Kayla Flynn 32yo of Bloomington,
IN began having a panic attack and requested to go to the hospital. While at the hospital Flynn admitted
to deputies that she was concealing contraband on her person. Flynn then retrieved approximately 34

suspected counterfeit $100 bill. Flynn was given jail clearance after which she was transported to the
Bartholomew County Jail on the charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia,
counterfeiting, possession of methamphetamine as well as an out of county warrant. She remains in

The driver of the vehicle was found to be Paul Crank Jr 59yo of Indianapolis. While in the process of
discovering Crank’s identity Crank also claimed to be having a panic attack and requested an ambulance.
A search of the vehicle resulted in locating syringes inside of a backpack belonging to Crank. During the
investigation deputies learned that the items found on Flynn had also previously been in the possession
of Crank. Crank was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital, he was later released and remanded
into the custody of the jail on the charges of false identity statement, possession of paraphernalia,
unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of methamphetamine as well as an out of county warrant.
