On February 11, 2026, at approximately 10:54 pm, a vehicle pursuit initiated in Shelby
County, IN entered our county. Deputies from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department
and Officers from the Greensburg Police Department joined into the pursuit as it entered
our county. Stop Sticks were successfully deployed by Officers of the Greensburg Police
Department, but the suspect vehicle continued with three flat tires.
As the vehicle being pursued neared the entrance to Lake McCoy on east St. Rd. 46, the
vehicle crashed into a stationary Decatur County Sheriff’s Department vehicle, which had
its red and blue emergency lights flashing. This crash caused the pursuit to end, and the
driver was taken into custody.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jody Anderson, 49 years old, of Greensburg.
When taken into custody, Anderson had an outstanding Decatur County arrest warrant
with the charges of:
Kidnapping, a Level 4 Felony
Criminal Confinement, a Level 4 Felony
Domestic Battery, a Level 6 Felony
Strangulation, a Level 6 Felony, and
\Intimidation, a Level 6 Felony
A request for additional charges in regard to the pursuit will be presented to the Decatur
County Prosecutors Office for their review.
No one was injured during the pursuit, but Anderson was taken to the Decatur County
Memorial Hospital for clearance as a precaution.
