City of Greensburg Airport Board, BZA, Redevelopment Commission, and Water Board met earlier this week

City of Greensburg Airport Board

The meeting began with the board approving their prior meeting minutes and this meeting’s agenda.

The board approved their financial report. Amy Bornes. City Clerk Treasurer told the board members that the Airport Improvement Fund is still waiting on a couple reimbursements from the state.

The board also voted to approve the proposal to change insurance carriers so that they align with the same carrier and broker that the city of Greensburg uses.

Gary Bailey, Airport Manager provided an update for the airport. He reports that the new mower has come in and it has been working great. Gary stated that he takes 4-5 calls per month asking about available hangar space. He also stated that the courtesy car is getting a lot of use and everyone speaks about how nice it is.

The board approved payment of the bills.

City of Greensburg Water Board

The meeting began with the approval of their prior meeting minutes and the agenda for the meeting.

The board heard from Darren Burkhart, HNTB provided an update on the Broadway & 10th Street project update. He stated that the project continues to move forward and that they will be entering pre-bid status in the next few weeks. The board will have a special session meeting on July 21, 2026, at 5:30p to open the bids.

Aaron Schwendenmann received approval to accept the lowest bid to replace the roofs on the building that houses the Flatrock electrical and pump buildings. The lowest bid also came with the best warranty of the options. Aaron also provided updates on the department and what they are accomplishing.

City of Greensburg Board of Zoning Appeals

The meeting began with the approval of the prior meeting minutes and the agenda for the meeting.

The board heard one request from Patrick Nobbe. His request involved 821 E. Erdmann Rd. N. and he was requesting a variance for setback from rear property line of 5’ instead of 10’ for a shed to be placed.

The board heard no comments or concerns and voted to approve Mr. Nobbe’s request.

The board also approved payment of their claims.

City of Greensburg Redevelopment Commission Meeting

The meeting began with the commission approving their prior meeting minutes, followed by approval of the meeting agenda.

Brady Rogers – Reedy Financial Group provided a review of their June reporting documents. Brady provided an overview of the commission’s 2027 projected revenue compared to expenditures. Overall, the information discussed was positive with Brady stating no concerns for the commission.

The commission approved an easement request located at 180 E Veterans Way for Duke Energy to install electric that is needed for Forge Fitness.

Zach Wirrig invited the commission to attend the RAI summer meeting on August 13th and 14th.

Zach also stated that Iron Men Apartment were scheduled to have a groundbreaking ceremony on June 3, 2026. The name of the apartment complex will be named Iron Wood Apartments.
