Greensburg Board of Aviation Commissioners

The Greensburg Board of Aviation Commissioners Met on Thursday.

There was a financial report given to the board. The total for all 3 accounts is $713,055.02.

Paul Shaffer with BF&S gave an update. The review has been completed and several areas do not meet the final design grade. There was a letter of correction issued for these areas. O’Mara plans to begin work on paving and lighting on April 1. AIP 20 partial pay request 5 for $22,863.61 was approved. AIP 16 partial pay request 17 for $317,347.75 was approved. Contractor progress 13 was approved.

Don Tribbett presented 2 easement agreements to the board. Both were approved. These will resolve all issues with the property owners and allow for drainage easements into the airport. There has been significant progress with the land acquisitions and easements.

Airport Manager Jerry Scheidler gave an update. All the hangars are full at the airport. There was a request made for a 20 ft trailer tractor purchase for mowing. There were several quotes received, all of which have extended timelines for the trailer arrival. There was a discussion on possibly planting hay to decrease the area being mowed, however several board members did not want to close the airport multiple times a year for cutting. The board approved the purchase of a John Deere tractor trailer for $32,500, 4-1.

As of January 1, the hangar prices will have a 10% increase to the nearest dollar.
